Madeleine Sumser Mihalich specializes in counseling adolescents and adults. Her areas of focus include eating disorders across the spectrum, disordered eating, body image, and helping families understand eating disorders. Madeleine also works with LGBTQ clients with a special focus on gender identity and sexual orientation. Other areas of focus include anxiety and phobias, trauma, and children of alcoholic and dysfunctional families.
Madeleine has special training in Mindfulness- Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Trauma Focused CBT.

Professional Background
Madeleine received a Master of Social Work from Fordham University. Her Bachelors degree is from George Mason University. Madeleine provides psychotherapy under the license and supervision of Anne Ross, LCSW.
Madeleine interned at the Metro Behavioral Health Eating Disorder Treatment Center in Scarsdale, New York where she provided individual and group therapy for clients with eating disorders, trauma, and substance abuse.
She also interned at Montefiore Mount Vernon ACT Team in Mount Vernon, New York where she worked as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to individuals diagnosed with severe mental illness.
